2. Purpose The purpose of travelling as a religious traveller is to worship the holy places, to go on pilgrimage, and to spend leisure time.  Cultural tourism is done to study new religions and their practices. 
3. Number of tourists  Religious tourism will attract fewer tourists than cultural tourism because of restrictions imposed in many places.  Cultural tourism will attract many tourists.
