Solution

  Embryo Sac Endosperm
1. The embryonic sac develops from the functional megaspore through megagametogenesis. The endosperm develops after double fertilization from the primary endosperm nucleus.
2. It is haploid (n) before fertilization. It is usually triploid (3n), formed by the fusion of one male gamete with two polar nuclei.
3. It acts as the female gametophyte and produces the egg cell for fertilization. It acts as a nutritive tissue that nourishes the developing embryo.
4. A mature embryo sac is seven-celled and eight-nucleate, containing one egg, two synergids, three antipodals, and two polar nuclei. The endosperm is a multinucleate or cellular tissue that develops inside the seed to supply nutrients.
