Aspect Antigens Antibodies
Definition It is a foreign substance that enters the body and triggers an immune response. It is a protective protein produced by the body to fight against antigens.
Nature These are usually proteins or polysaccharides found on the surface of pathogens. These are Y-shaped proteins known as Immunoglobulins (Ig).
Function It acts as a target or a signal for the immune system to start working. It binds to the antigen specifically to neutralize or destroy it.
