A Clever Crow

A crow used to live in a woodland. He was thirsty. Those were the sweltering summer days. The intense heat caused rivers, wells, and streams to dry up. Despite his wanderings, the crow was unable to find water to drink.

He came near a village. He noticed an earthen pitcher there. He was standing on the pot's edge. He discovered that there was water in half of the earthen pot. The water in the pot was beyond reach for his beak. He was in dire need of water. He had just a hint of an idea. Near the saucepan, there were numerous little pebbles. The crow began placing them in the pot after using his beak to pick them up one by one. Water began to rise to the pot's surface when a large number of pebbles were added. Water reached the pot's rim after his tremendous efforts. After consuming some water, the crow joyfully took off. He was a very smart crow.
