Solution
- Active Volcano: An active volcano is one that erupts frequently or shows signs of erupting in the near future. It regularly emits lava, ash, gases, and other volcanic materials. These volcanoes have continuous or periodic activity.
Example: Mt. Stromboli and Mt. Etna in Italy - Dormant Volcano: A dormant volcano is currently inactive but may erupt again in the future. It has not erupted in a long time but still has the potential to become active. Such volcanoes show no present activity but are not considered extinct.
Example: Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa.
