Solution
Oviducts (fallopian tubes): A pair of tubes, each about 10–12 cm long, carries the ovum towards the uterus. The end near the ovary is the funnel-shaped infundibulum, whose finger-like fimbriae help collect the ovulated oocyte. It leads to the wider ampulla, followed by the narrower isthmus, which joins the uterus. Cilia and muscular activity help move the oocyte. Fertilisation commonly occurs near the ampullary–isthmic region.
