Solution

A = Even prime numbers

Since 2 is the only even prime number,

A = {2}     ...(i)

B = {x | 7x − 1 = 13}

7x − 1 = 13

7x = 13 + 1

7x = 14

x = `14/7`

x = 2

∴ B = {2}     ...(ii)

∴ The elements in set A and B is identical      … [From (i) and (ii)]

A = B

Hence, A and B are equal sets.
