Solution
Given:
AB = 4.5 cm, BC = 5.8 cm and AC = 7 cm in parallelogram ABCD.
Stepwise Construction:
- Draw line BC = 5.8 cm.
- With B as the center and radius 4.5 cm (length of AB), draw an arc above the line BC.
- With C as the center and radius 7 cm (length of diagonal AC), draw another arc intersecting the first arc at point A.
- Join points A and B.
- With A as the center and radius 5.8 cm (length of BC), draw an arc on the right side of A.
- With C as the center and radius 4.5 cm (length of AB), draw another arc to intersect the previous arc at point D.
- Join points A to D and C to D.
Thus, ABCD is the required parallelogram with the given sides and diagonal.
