Solution

The conspiracy against Caesar is mainly planned and developed by Cassius. He is jealous of Caesar’s growing power and fears that Caesar may become a dictator.

Cassius cleverly influences Brutus by appealing to his honour and love for Rome. He also arranges anonymous letters to be placed where Brutus will find them, making him believe that the people of Rome want him to act against Caesar.

Cassius also wins over Casca and other conspirators and plans their secret meetings. He is practical, observant and politically shrewd.

Thus, Cassius is the main force behind the conspiracy. His intelligence, manipulation and determination bring the conspirators together and set the plot against Caesar in motion.
