Solution

In “The Thief’s Story”, Hari Singh is a young thief who befriends Anil with the intention of robbing him. However, Anil treats him with kindness, trust and respect. He gives Hari food, shelter and even promises to teach him how to read and write. This generosity deeply affects Hari. When he steals Anil’s money and runs away, he is filled with guilt. He realises that losing Anil’s trust would mean losing the chance for a better life. Overcome by remorse, he returns the money. Anil silently forgives him, strengthening Hari’s resolve to change. Thus, trust and compassion reform Hari and guide him towards honesty.
