Solution
The seagull’s mother and Amanda’s mother adopt completely different approaches to teach their children. The seagull’s mother uses a practical and firm method to make her young one independent. She does not pamper him but instead tempts him with food and finally forces him to fly. Though the seagull initially feels fear and despair, he eventually gains confidence and experiences joy and pride in flying.
In contrast, Amanda’s mother constantly nags and instructs her, leaving little room for freedom. Her controlling tone makes Amanda feel irritated, suffocated, and rebellious. While the seagull grows confident through encouragement and challenge, Amanda feels emotionally distant and misunderstood due to continuous scolding.
