Solution

Given: A bag contains 5 white, 7 red, 4 black and 2 blue balls.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Total number of balls

= 5 + 7 + 4 + 2

= 18

2. Number of non-white balls

= 7 + 4 + 2

= 13

3. Probability not white

= `"Number of non-white balls"/"Total number of balls"`

= `13/18`

4. As a decimal: `13/18 ≈ 0.7222`

= 72.22%

The probability that the ball drawn is not white is `13/18` (≈ 0.7222 or 72.22%).
