- When the moving second ball hits the first ball, it transfers some of its energy to the first ball. As a result, the first ball, which was at rest, starts moving. The second ball may slow down or change its direction.
- The second ball got energy from the force applied by our hand while pushing it. This energy made the second ball move. When it struck the first ball, some of this energy was transferred to the first ball and set it in motion.
