उत्तर

    1. In 2002, the sales were Rs 4 crore.
    2. In 2006, the sales were Rs 8 crore.

    1. In 2003, the sales were Rs 7 crore.
    2. In 2005, the sales were Rs 10 crore

    1. sales in year 2002 = 8 crores
    2. Sales in year, 2006 = 4 crores
    3. Difference between the two = 8 − 4 = Rs 4 crore
  1.
    1. Difference between the sales of the year 2006 and 2005
      = Rs (10 − 8) crores = Rs 2 crores
    2. Difference between the sales of the year 2005 and 2004
      = Rs (10 − 6) crores = Rs 4 crores
    3. Difference between the sales of the year 2004 and 2003
      = Rs (7 − 6) crore = Rs 1 crore
    4. Difference between the sales of the year 2003 and 2002
      = Rs (7 − 4) crores = Rs 3 crores
Hence, the difference was the highest in 2005 as compared to the previous year, 2004.

The runs scored by two teams A and B in first 10 overs are given below:

Overs: I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX X
Team A: 2 1 8 9 4 5 6 10 6 2
Team B: 5 6 2 10 5 6 3 4 8 10

Draw a graph depicting the data, making the graphs on the same axes in each case in two different ways as a graph and as a bar chart.

The given graph describes the distances of a car from a city P at different times when it is travelling from City P to City Q, which are 350 km apart. Study the graph and answer the following:
(i) What information is given on the two axes?
(ii) From where and when did the car begin its journey?
(iii) How far did the car go in the first hour?
(iv) How far did the car go during (i) the 2nd hour? (ii) the 3rd hour?
(v) Was the speed same during the first three hours? How do you know it?
(vi) Did the car stop for some duration at any place? Justify your answer.
(vii) When did the car reach City Q?

  3. On which day was the temperature 31°C?
  4. Which was the hottest day?

As part of his science project, Prithvi was supposed to record the temperature every hour one Saturday from 6 am to midnight. At noon, he was taking lunch and forgot to record the temperature. At 8:00 pm, his favourite show came on and so forgot again. He recorded the data so collected on a graph sheet as shown below.

  1. Why does it make sense to connect the points in this situation?
  2. Describe the overall trend, or pattern, in the way the temperature changes over the time period shown on the graph.
  3. Estimate the temperature at noon and 8 pm.
