Dilute hydrochloric acid cannot be concentrated beyond 22.2% (by weight) by distillation.This is due to the fact that this mixture (77.8% water+22.2% HCI) is an azeotropic mixture, it boils at a constant temperature of 110°C without any change in concentration.
