उत्तर

The consumer movement in India has made great progress since its inception, but it still faces several challenges and limits that impede its overall progress. Consumers are becoming increasingly aware of their rights and duties. Consumer organizations, NGOs, and government initiatives have all played important roles in educating consumers through workshops, campaigns, and awareness programs. The Consumer Protection Act of 1986 marked a watershed moment in India’s efforts to protect consumer rights. Despite the presence of legislation and consumer protection measures, implementation and enforcement posed considerable obstacles. Rural and economically challenged consumers frequently lack awareness of their rights and have difficulty accessing consumer courts. These groups are disproportionately affected by issues including unfair trade practices, adulteration, and deceptive advertising.
