The order of ligands present in the hybrid compounds given in the spectrochemical series is as follows:

H2O < NH3 < \[\ce{NO^-_2}\]

Since the observed wavelengths are complementary to the absorbed wavelengths, the wavelengths of absorbed light will be E = `(hc)/λ` in the opposite order, i.e. [Ni(NO2)6]4− < [Ni(NH3)6]2+ < [ Ni(H2O)6]2+.
