उत्तर

Distance between Sarah’s House and James’s House using “C street”.

AC2 = AB2 + BC2

= 22 + 1.52

= 4 + 2.25

= 6.25

AC = `sqrt(6.25)`

AC = 2.5 miles

Distance covered by using “A Street” and “B Street”

= (2 + 1.5) miles

= 3.5 miles

Difference in distance = 3.5 miles – 2.5 miles = 1 mile

In the following figure, O is a point in the interior of a triangle ABC, OD ⊥ BC, OE ⊥ AC and OF ⊥ AB. Show that

(ii) AF2 + BD2 + CE= AE2 + CD2 + BF2

In a right-angled triangle ABC,ABC = 90°, AC = 10 cm, BC = 6 cm and BC produced to D such CD = 9 cm. Find the length of AD.

From given figure, In ∆ABC, If AC = 12 cm. then AB =?

Activity: From given figure, In ∆ABC, ∠ABC = 90°, ∠ACB = 30°

∴ ∠BAC = `square`

∴ ∆ABC is 30° – 60° – 90° triangle

∴ In ∆ABC by property of 30° – 60° – 90° triangle.

∴ AB = `1/2` AC and `square` = `sqrt(3)/2` AC

∴ `square` = `1/2 xx 12` and BC = `sqrt(3)/2 xx 12`

∴ `square` = 6 and BC = `6sqrt(3)`
