V.G. Shivdare College of Arts, Commerce and Science

                Dakshin Solapur Taluka Shikshan Mandal, Solapur was established in 1982, with an objective of catering quality education to the needy and meritorious students in this taluka as well as the district. This mandal has been running sucessfully the Diploma and Degree Courses in Pharmacology. The results of these courses are upto the mark in the Shivaji University. Now that the Solapur Unversity has been established for the Solapur District the management thought fit to start a College for the undergraduate classes in the Faculty of Arts, Commerce and Science from June, 2005. It is offering new courses in Science faculty &Biotechnology (Entire) keeping in view the changing times and demanding technology.

                     The V. G. Shivdare College was established in June, 2005, with the vision to provide basic as well as advanced and excellent education to the promising students of this area.In this endeavor the college has proved that it is an Institution par excellence! The vision and planning of Late V. G. Shivdare,  Ex MLA., the educational Pioneer of this institution has borne fruits under the able guidance of Shri Rajshekhar V. Shivdare.
Some of the special features of the new College :

• The college has its own building on 48,000 sft. area with a big play ground in the city.

• The building has fully equiped laboratories for Biotechnology, Biosciences, Biochemistry, Computer and Instruments.

• Students can access & browse internet through the Hi-speed broadband service in the college.

• The building is Eco-friendly, energy saving with ample aeration and light.

• This two storied building has 15 classrooms, library, gymkhana, besides cleaner utility rooms for staff, ladies and boys seperately.

• The library is full of text books besides the reference journals, books, magazines and other reading material in a separate building.

• The Gymkhana caters to all sports & has won laurels in Kabaddi, Fencing, etc.

• The Management has made every attempt to recruit well qualified faculty for all the three streams.

• The faculty as well as students of Biotechnology have presented papers in various conferences, seminars at different places.Dr.G. K. Nagda has recently presented a scientific paper in Japan.
