I am Arti Ashok Shukla, a resident of Nirman Vihar, Karnal. I write to applaud the teenagers of our locality who have taken responsibility for neighbourhood cleanliness and civic awareness.

Every weekend morning these young volunteers clean our parks, collect litter, and put up clear posters promoting segregated waste disposal. Their steady efforts have made our public spaces cleaner and far more pleasant for all residents. Their proactiveness shows the real power of teenagers in community welfare. By organising teams, planning routes, and educating neighbours, they display leadership, responsibility and a strong sense of public duty that inspires adults as well.

Beyond civic benefits, this work adds to wholesome personality development, it teaches teamwork, communication, discipline, empathy and practical problem‑solving. These are life skills that complement their studies and shape them into responsible citizens.

I urge other localities and schools to encourage such youth-led initiatives and for municipal bodies to support them with basic supplies and waste-segregation infrastructure. Small encouragements will multiply the good they are already doing.
