- Iron-ore: Hematite iron is mainly found in Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Goa, and Karnataka. Magnetite is found on the Western Coast of Karnataka. Some deposits of iron ore are also found in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh.
- Coal and Lignite: India ranks third in coal production. The main centres are West Bengal, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Bulk production comes from Bengal-Jharkhand coal fields. Lignite is found in Neyveli in Tamil Nadu.
- Bauxite: Bauxite is a main source of aluminum. Major reserves are found in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
- Mica: India stands first in sheet mica production. Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Rajasthan are major reserves.
- Crude Oil: Oil is being explored in India at many places in Assam and Gujarat.
- Gold: India possesses only a limited gold reserve.
- Diamond: The total reserves of a diamond is estimated at around 4582 carats.
