Status of women during the Medieval period.

The Medieval Period is from c. 650 CE to c. 1500 CE.

1. The status of women deteriorated further in Medieval India.
2. Invasions from the Central Asian region, along with zealous Brahmanical iron laws, were the main cause of this degradation.
3. The freedom of women was curtailed; knowledge of the scriptures and literacy were denied to them, and their status was reduced to being dependent on men throughout their lifetime.

6. Women continued to be excluded from family inheritances.
