Solution

These therapies are founded on the belief that unresolved inner conflicts are the root cause of psychological disorders.

Sigmund Freud was the first to introduce the roles of the Id, Ego, and Superego in shaping human personality. The Id seeks immediate pleasure, the Superego develops our moral conscience, and the Ego acts as a mediator, using the reality principle to balance the demands of the Id and Superego.

Freud’s major contribution to psychodynamic theory is his idea that mental disorders arise from hidden internal conflicts within the unconscious mind, especially conflicts between the Id and Ego or between primitive desires and the rational mind. According to this view, when the balance between the Id and Ego is disturbed, the individual struggles to cope with everyday life and may develop a mental disorder. Many forms of psychotherapy follow this idea, with psychoanalysis, developed by Freud, being the most significant.
