In recent years the number of road accidents in Tamil Nadu has been increasing. It is reported that 15% of the road accidents of the country take place in Tamil Nadu.

Basic road safety rules:

1. Aware of the road signals
2. Stop, look and cross
3. Listen and ensure whether a vehicle is approaching
4. Don’t rush on roads
5. Crossroads in pedestrian crossings
6. Don’t stretch your hands while driving vehicles.
7. Never crossroad at bends and stay safe in a moving vehicle.
8. Avoid speeding, Drunk and driving, use helmets and seat belts, and follow traffic rules.
