Speed and power tests

In a speed test, the individual is required to complete as many questions as possible within a short time frame, such as one, two, or three minutes, depending on the test’s length and difficulty. Performance in these tests depends mainly on how quickly a person can work, as time is strictly limited. For example, a test where a person must give opposites within a set time is considered a speed test.

In contrast, a power test includes challenging items and allows the person to take as much time as needed. The focus here is on the person’s ability to answer correctly, not on how fast they complete the test. The Progressive Matrices intelligence test is a good example of a power test.

Additionally, there are various tools available to measure specific abilities such as attention span, concentration, musical talent, and skills in arts or architecture.
