- Stress tolerance capacity refers to a person’s ability to endure stress without reacting negatively. As shown in the image, this capacity should have been developed in early childhood. When a child is not given everything instantly and learns to wait, they gradually build frustration tolerance through socialization.
- A person with good stress tolerance does not get upset by minor issues like traffic, a delayed meal, or a missed bus. He patiently accepts situations without showing anger or tantrums or using unhealthy coping mechanisms. Even in serious life situations, like the death of a loved one, such a person may feel emotional pain but remain mentally stable and continue with daily life.
