Prejudice is a negative and irrational attitude or belief toward an individual or group based on characteristics like caste, race, religion, gender, or nationality. It is usually learned through social influences such as family, peers, media, and culture. Prejudice is internal it exists in a person’s thoughts and emotions and often involves stereotyping and biased judgments without actual experience or evidence.
Discrimination, on the other hand, is the behavioral expression of prejudice. It involves treating individuals or groups unfairly based on prejudiced attitudes. Discrimination can be seen in actions like denying someone a job, refusing to interact socially, or excluding individuals from opportunities or rights due to their group identity.
