Solution
Biological therapy is a method used to treat mental disorders by focusing on the brain’s biological and chemical processes. It includes the use of medicines and physical treatments to reduce or manage symptoms of psychological problems.
The most common type of biological therapy is drug treatment, where doctors prescribe medications such as antidepressants for depression, anti-anxiety drugs for anxiety, antipsychotics for schizophrenia, and mood stabilizers for bipolar disorder.
Other methods include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for severe depression and, in rare cases, psychosurgery for chronic mental illness. Biological therapy is effective in controlling symptoms and is often used along with psychotherapy for better results. However, it may have side effects and does not solve deeper emotional or social issues.
