  1. The ovule shown in the figure is anatropous.
  2. The first cell of the embryo sac is the megaspore.
    1. ‘A’ is the micropyle. Its function is to serve as a narrow opening at the apex of the ovule and the passage of the pollen tube. 
    2. ‘B’ is the secondary nucleus. Its function is to form a diploid nucleus due to the fusion of two haploid polar nuclei. It forms the primary endosperm nucleus after fertilization.
