Solution

The accidental or deliberate introduction of species that are not native to a particular habitat has resulted in the decline or even extinction of local species. These alien species often compete with or prey on indigenous organisms, leading to their reduction or disappearance. For example, the introduction of Nile perch into Lake Victoria in East Africa led to the extinction of more than 200 native fish species, especially cichlid fishes.
