Solution

The shift to farming during the Neolithic period is called a revolution because it brought major changes to human life. Earlier, people mainly hunted and gathered food and moved from place to place. With farming, they began to grow crops, domesticate animals and live in permanent settlements. This led to the growth of villages, new occupations, larger communities and new ways of life. Thus, farming completely transformed human society rather than being just a simple change.
