Solution
Polar regions receive less rainfall because of the very low temperatures present in these areas. Due to the cold climate, both evaporation and precipitation are minimal. Since cold air holds very little moisture, there is not much water vapor available to form rain. Additionally, polar regions are generally high-pressure zones, which discourage the formation of precipitation. Most of the precipitation that occurs in polar regions falls as light snowfall, and overall, the amount remains very low, often below 25 cm annually. The limited evaporation and the influence of high-pressure conditions are the main reasons why rainfall is scanty in the polar regions.
