Solution

Jawaharlal Nehru and Subhas Chandra Bose were both educated in socialist principles. Both had a considerable number of fans who referred to themselves as “Leftist Congressmen”. Subhas Bose’s bid to re-elect for Congress president in 1939 significantly divided the National Congress into two camps, ‘Leftist’ and ‘Rightist’. Socialism had already made an impact in Congress, but it now represented a powerful left flank with a strong lean toward communist leadership.
