Solution

Tropical deserts have very hot days and very cold nights because their skies are almost always cloudless and the air is extremely dry, so intense solar radiation reaches and heats the surface during the day while there is nothing (clouds or moisture) to trap the Earth’s outgoing long‑wave heat at night; additionally the surface is mostly sand and bare ground with low thermal inertia (low specific heat) so it warms very quickly by day and loses heat very quickly after sunset.
