Chanakya helped Chandragupta against the Nandas. Chanakya was insulted and humiliated by the Nanda king Dhanananda. Chanakya, better known as Kautilya, trained Chandragupta, a young man of the Maurya family, in statecraft and warfare to avenge his humiliation.
