  3. Putting x = 2 in 2x + l, we get 2 × 2 + 1 = 5 ≠ 0 
  4. Putting x = 2 in x + 3, we get 2 + 3 = 5 ≠ 6

Thus, the above conditions shows that x = 2 is the solution of x – 2 = 0
