Solution

The given equation is (3x2 + 2x – 1 = 0)

x = (–1)

L.H.S = x2 + 2x – 1

= 3 × (–1)2 + 2 × (–1) – 1

= 3 – 2 – 1

= 0

= R.H.S

Thus, (–1) is a root of (3x2 + 2x – 1 = 0)
