Solution

The following precautions should be taken while measuring rainfall.

  1. Rainfall is a significant source of water for the planet Earth and is created when water vapour and air temperature change.
  2. The term "rain gauge" refers to the device that measures rainfall.
  3. The rain that falls into the funnel, which is used to measure it, is collected in a bottle that is attached to the gauge.
  4. The funnel has a certain diameter. A measuring jug is then used to measure the gathered water. Rain gauge readings should be taken every three hours in locations experiencing high rainfall. Rain is measured in millimetres by the measuring jar.
  5. The gauge must be maintained on a flat-mount, 30 cm high, on open ground.
  6. So that there are no obstacles in the way of collecting the rainwater.
