1. Supply of Goods and Services: Producers are the source of supply of various kinds of goods and services in an economy. Therefore, an increase in the number of producers would mean an increase in the supply of goods and services. 
2. Efficient Utilisation of Resources: Every economy has economic resources at its disposal which can be utilised for producing various kinds of goods. The producers through their productive activities make their use efficiently. 
3. Expansion of Income and Employment Opportunities: When the producers expand the scale of production, the income and employment opportunities are increased in the economy. A large number of persons are employed in the production sector. 
4. Increase in Export Earnings: The export earnings of a country would depend upon the number of producers who are engaged in the production of exportable items. The volume of country’s exports can be increased by encouraging the producers producing for exports.
