Solution

  1. Sulphur melts at 385.8 K, forming a pale yellow liquid.
  2. On further heating, liquid sulphur becomes thicker and dark brown due to chain formation from S8 rings.
  3. At about 453 K, it becomes very viscous and stops flowing.
  4. Above 453 K, viscosity decreases as chains break and it becomes more fluid.
  5. At 718 K, sulphur boils, giving reddish-brown vapours of S8.
  6. At higher temperatures, vapours dissociate into S4, S2, and atomic sulphur.
