Question
What is the condition of waterways as a mode of transport in India and Brazil?
Advertisements
Solution
Brazil’s transportation system has been heavily reliant on roads. Commercial waterways have been developed in the Amazon River, and boats enter the river’s mouth from Peru. It is the longest navigable stretch of water, but because of the dense forest cover, it is not well developed for transportation. Waterways in India are not well developed, but they do exist and are used for very little transportation. They are still being developed in order to improve the efficiency of the transportation facility.
