Sewage is a collective term for municipal wastewater, which includes both liquid and solid wastes produced in cities and towns and transported via sewers. Sewage typically contains bacteria (e.g., coliforms, streptococci, clostridia, lactobacilli), microfungi, protozoa and microalgae.
