Solution

The coriolis effect is the deflection of the direction of winds caused by the earth’s rotation. Instead of blowing straight from high to low pressure areas, winds are turned to the right in the northern hemisphere, flowing clockwise, and to the left in the southern hemisphere, flowing anticlockwise. This deflection increases from the equator towards the poles and is absent at the equator itself. This effect, also known as ferrel’s law, influences the movement and direction of winds and is responsible for the characteristic spiral patterns seen in cyclones and anticyclones in each hemisphere.
