Solution
Continental type of climate is mainly found inland, away from oceans, in parts of Eurasia and North America. It has large temperature differences between summer and winter, with warm summers (20°C to 30°C) and very cold winters often below freezing. Rainfall is low and irregular, usually between 20 cm and 50-60 cm annually, often falling as snow in winter. This climate supports mostly grasslands known as steppes or prairies, which are mostly treeless due to scarce rainfall and extreme temperatures. The diurnal temperature range is also high because of clear skies. Overall, it is an extreme climate with distinct hot summers, cold winters, and moderate to low precipitation.
