Solution

An Isopleth map is a thematic map used to represent the continuous distribution of a geographical phenomenon by connecting different places of equal values with smooth lines. Derived from the Greek words Isos (equal) and Pleth (value), this mapping technique is ideal for displaying natural data that flows smoothly across space without stopping at artificial district or state boundaries. It requires point-specific data collected from exact geographical locations, such as weather stations or observatories, rather than average data for an entire district. Common examples of these lines include isotherms for temperature, isobars for atmospheric pressure, isohyets for rainfall, and contours for elevation above sea level. To find the exact values between two stations and draw these lines accurately, a mathematical estimation technique called interpolation is used.
