Solution

If an atom had no empty space, atoms would be packed completely solid, so matter would be very dense. Since an atom is mostly empty space, the size of an atom is about `10^-10` m while its nucleus is about `10^-15` m. If atoms had no empty space, objects like a cricket ground-sized atom would not shrink, so all objects such as a house, a book or a human body would become extremely small, with sizes comparable to the atoms that make them up. Thus, the size of everyday objects would be drastically reduced, making them far smaller than they are now.
