Solution

  1. A combination of two electrodes, one for oxidation and the other for reduction, can be used to create a galvanic cell.
  2. A half cell is the term used to describe each electrode assembly. Therefore, it is possible that a galvanic cell is made up of two half cells.
  3. Anodic half cells, also known as oxidation half cells, are those that undergo oxidation, whereas cathodic half cells, also known as reduction half cells, are those that undergo reduction.
  4. It should be mentioned that the anode is the electrode where oxidation occurs, and the cathode is the electrode where reduction occurs. The cathode of a galvanic cell has a positive polarity, whereas the anode has a negative polarity.
