Solution

The cycle of nature can be disturbed by deforestation, pollution, excessive use of natural resources, overuse of groundwater, destruction of forests and wildlife, rapid urbanisation, industrialisation and climate change. These activities affect rainfall, soil, water, air and the balance of ecosystems.

To avoid this, we should plant more trees, prevent pollution, save water, protect forests and wildlife, reduce waste, reuse and recycle materials, and use natural resources judiciously.

If there is scanty rainfall, drinking water should be managed carefully by:

  1. Avoiding wastage of water.
  2. Repairing leaking taps and pipelines.
  3. Using stored water only for essential needs.
  4. Practising rainwater harvesting.
  5. Reusing water wherever possible.
  6. Protecting wells, lakes and other local water sources from pollution.
  7. Using groundwater carefully and preventing over-extraction.

Thus, careful use and conservation of natural resources help maintain the balance of nature.
