Solution
Adolescent pregnancy can place both the mother and baby at greater risk. The adolescent mother may be anaemic, may face complications during childbirth or maternal death, and may suffer damage to the reproductive tract. Infant illness or death is also more likely, and the baby may need care that a young mother is not yet prepared to provide. Pregnancy and early motherhood can interrupt schooling, delay higher education and career plans, and create psychological and financial difficulties.
