Solution

Lyophilic colloids are colloidal solutions in which the dispersed phase has a strong affinity for the dispersion medium (solvent loving). They readily form stable sols without the need for stabilizing agents. These sols are reversible, meaning the dispersed phase can be recovered and redispersed easily. Common examples of lyophilic colloids include gelatin, starch, albumin, and gum arabic. They form stable dispersions, especially in water, called hydrophilic sols.
